Our class for 5th and 6th graders meets every Sunday morning at 10:30 in the Education Building. We use a unique approach to Christian education called active learning. It’s busy, sometimes noisy, uses a variety of gizmos, gadgets and games, and the kids love it! Class work sends the kids right to their Bibles for answers to questions and problems facing today’s preteens. We serve a good God who has direction and instruction and promises for these kids, and we want them to learn to seek out and apply the Word to their lives.

We encourage daily Bible use by sending home a “Table Tent” each week, which guides the kids to scriptures that highlight the week’s teaching focus. We also provide a dynamic praise and worship service each week. The kids are taught to fully give to God in praise and worship, and we strive to create an atmosphere for the Holy Spirit to be free to minister to the kids as well. We receive tithes and offerings and instruct the kids in the benefits and responsibilities of giving.

Finally, we offer quarterly fellowships such as bowling trips, cook-outs, outreach outings, skating and more. We want to see our Lighthouse kids grow in their relationships with one another, since we know that one of the keys to a successful walk with God is to establish and maintain strong relationships with other believers.
